The restaurant’s informal ordering style, which may include verbal menu explanations, reflects cultural norms and is generally well-received despite occasional language barriers. While the setting is modest, the combination of taste, portion size, and friendly service consistently earns recommendations from patrons.
Please don't be too demanding for 30 dollar meal and expect it to match the services of 3 star established hotel.Yes it's hard to understand as guy speaks little English.Yes they normally tells you verbally what's available as it's normally a style I have seem in many middle eastern, Asian or African areas. But the meal is great Quantity is great Place is good We ordered this as you can see in pic (full rice full chicken roasted chopped minced meat on the other side of dish also) small salad bowl 2 mango juices 2 canada dry can 3 soup we were served in beginning as starter without meat.Total bill of all these items was 33cad ,I mean a full roasted chicken only costs sometimes more than that !With all this food please don't expect them to bow before you like 5 star employees for 33 bucks!
This was my first time eating from a Somali restaurant. I'm quite impressed. Ordered their Goat Meat served with aromatically spiced rice... Haven't had good mutton in a while. It was really well cooked. And the amount was more than satisfactory. It was so filling. It arrived pretty quickly too.
The food was amazing, very tasteful and the portion sizes were great. Excellent customer service!
I love this Restaurant good food special for goat meat and spagheti
Great Halal place to dine a delicious and fresh meat with rice. We tried Beef stew and Chicken with pasta. Liked soup and juices served before food.Owner and staff are very humble and their great hospitality reminded us of Gulf countries.Food was great in taste with enough serving. Would come again and highly recommend
This restaurant definitely has a foreign vibe. The expectations are you find a table and a waiter will come to you. My friend and I dined in after a long day of swimming. The meal prices are definitely cheap and the portions are huge. I had the meal for two people and maybe that's meant for meal for three, but not according to somilian standards. If I lived in Edmonton, I would just order dinner from here 2-3/week and avoid grocery shopping. The meat and rice exceed flavor expectations. Juice price is only 2 and all flavors were tasty. The only room for improvement will be the washrooms.
Let's get the obvious out of the way, the service can be a little slow. But that is the only downside. You will pay very little, and get an ungodly amount of food. All the food tastes good. Ask for a mango drink and thank me later. The photo below is my plate of food (after I mixed it up) with my hand for scale.
Amazing quantity and quality of food. I got the meal with goat and it comes with the soup and mango drink. The meat was tender and flavorful , and the rice was good too. All for 20, There should be more people enjoying this place and it's well priced food!
